#ICYMI: Raised by lesbian parents, gay 19-year-old #JacksonLewis has become the youngest elected official in #Utah, and provides a bright spot during an otherwise dark election cycle. He cited bigotry and bullying as the motivating force to make a run for office—and win! Lewis’s victory highlights the importance of queer voices at every level of governing bodies, especially school boards. A Trevor Project survey found that anti-LGBTQ+ school policies directly impact mental health and increase suicide attempts by students.

Fierce supporter of the Center and precious #Queerce honoree #Valentina unveiled her newly given #Muxe name, Xunaxi (Shunashi) which means virgin, goddess, and saint. The Muxes are a recognized third gender among the Zapotec people of Oaxaca, México.
